ROG Phone II: The Beast Gaming Phone Got Even Better

ROG have just released their refreshed gaming phone, the ROG Phone II. This beast is equipped with numerous features that I am sure a gamer will certainly drool over with. 

This phone comes with black finish with copper accents. A usual color for gaming devices like the ROG gaming laptops. It’s design is exceptional. The overall aesthetics is something that will really catch your attention. How about the specs?

DISPLAY

The ROG Phone has a 6.59 inches AMOLED screen. The dedicated hardware display supports Gaming HDR and Mobile HDR. It‘s screen is made with Corning Gorilla 6 Glass and has a touch panel with 10 points multi-touch. Bluelight filter and Always On is also available. The display has up to 120Hz refresh rate which makes scrolling and other display tasks buttery smooth. 

ROG has also implemented the in-screen fingerprint biometric sensors. Did I mention this is a 1080P panel?

AUDIO

There are dual front-facing stereo speakers with smart amplifier for louder, deeper and less distorted sound output. It provides Hi-res audio output that is 4 times better than CD quality. It is as well provides 3D audio rendering for immersive 7.1 channel surround-sound. There are also three internal microphones with ASUS Noise Reduction Technology.

Internals

You can get this device in two storage configurations: 128 or 512 GB UFS for fast data storage. CPU is backed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus Octa-core Processor. It is packed with Qualcomm Adreno 640 GPU at up to 672MHz. RAM is up to 12GB. How about that?

It has a 6000mAh of battery capacity with AI and scheduled charging for battery protection. Gaming for longer periods of time will be enjoyable. 

The operating system of the device runs with Android Pie 9 with ROG UI.

Two refreshed AirTriggers are located on the right side of the phone with Volume and Power Switch sandwiched in between. A side-mount connector is located on the left side of the phone for connecting different accessories. At the bottom housed the USB C charging and data connector as well as a 3.5 mm audio jack for headphones/mic input. This device weighs for 240 grams which gives a little weight to it so holding it will give that sense of security. It has a copper vent at the back of the phone for the cooling system hidden inside the device. LED lighted logo is also situated at the back that changes to different colors. 

Other specs

This device supports LTE (no 5g yet though). It also has Dual Sim dual standby. It supports Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi (of course) and NFC. 

The dual-camera system if the phone is equipped with Sony’s IMX586 flagship 48 MP sensor will provide you stunning shots. The secondary cam has a 13 MP ultra2x-wide lens that has an 11m of focal length for that wider shots on tight spaces. Front-facing camera is also good for selfies as it has a 24 MP of sensor. 

This device has a powerful AeroActive Cooler that gives instant extra cooling boost whenever you need the maximum sustained performance.

Listening to radio is possible with its FM receiver.
